Sharing our lives, our love, and our faith.

Our Lives Today

We have now been in Dallas together for about four years. When we were first living here, the adjustment was almost more than I could bear. I went from a single college student in the north to a married teacher in the south within a matter of months. Jim had been here for about half a year and had quickly acclimated. I, on the other hand, felt like everything in my world had turned upside down. I didn't know how I would survive! I cried almost every night for months. Jim was very supportive, but he couldn't fill all of my needs. Finally, when life had settled down a bit and I was completely humbled before the Lord, He led us to our church, Fellowship Bible Church Arapaho. We had been actively searching for a church to call home for several months, but it felt like an eternity while I waited to feel God's touch in our marriage. I was unsure we would find a place that we could agree upon, given our different backgrounds in worship. When we walked in the door of this church, though, I knew it was home. Thankfully, Jim felt the same way! I really believe this is what turned our world rightside up. We don't worship our church, but we do worship God for giving us a place where we can grow together and learn about Him.

Last December we bought a house and settled down more permanently. We've enjoyed fixing up the house and building a life together. Jim is busy working for Verizon Directories and doing other projects on the side, and I will be moving this fall to a different school in RISD to begin my fifth year of teaching. We're keeping incredibly busy, and we eacch feel like we have found our niche in Dallas.

We believe that ours is a blessed and special story. It is a story of love, patience, and God's goodness. And we know that there are many more chapters just waiting to be written.
