A new look and a new life

And the silence is finally broken. Smiling

Yes, I’ve been absent for quite some time. It’s understandable, you see, for as many of you know, it will soon be Jim and Lissa plus one!! I know that is a scary thought, but there is no turning back now. Lissa will be 37 weeks pregnant — full term — tomorrow! So, this could all become a reality any day now.

This must be setting in for me finally. It is well known that pregnant women go through a nesting phase before giving birth. Lissa may be experiencing that, but I think I am too busy nesting to notice.

It all started with the nursery. After installing the flooring, painting the walls, etc., in the nursery, I’ve been on a bit of a rampage. I’ve been painting other rooms, doing work on the cars, working in the yard, planning carpet installation, and making endless lists of all of the other things I want to do. Luckily, I recognize that they won’t all be done in the three weeks between now and April 4th.

As you can see, another focus of my “overhaul and fix everything” mindset has been this site. It was quite old (technologically speaking). The look was a tad drab, and the software used for running it, Drupal, was over two major versions behind. It was finally time for an update, something I had been planning for well over a year! So, here it is. It may not be the most exciting thing on the web, but at least it’s a bit more up to date and has some color. If you find things that don’t work, let me know. I am already aware of a few things that still need to be addressed, but everything seems to be working for the most part.

And since there will be plenty of news and things about which to write in the coming weeks, it is likely that the silence won’t be quite so deafening in the future. I have to have something to do when I’m up for all of the 2 a.m. feedings, right?
